Movies and Shortbread

This night has turned out to be an interesting one. Geoff and I made dinner and sat down to watch a movie that we both thought we would like. We had both skimmed through this movie (Contagion), and, not seeing any gory parts, decided it would be fun to watch...this was definitely not the case. Not even 10 minutes in there was a gory scene, one that almost made me lose my dinner. I certainly couldn't finish eating it. Needless to say, I think next time we'll both skim through a movie a little more carefully than we did this time.
I really have a wonderful husband, though. Instead of giving up on our movie night date, he let me choose what I would want to watch instead of Contagion. I chose Anne of Green Gables. I haven't seen these movies for years and am really looking forward to watching the first one. He's off napping right now so he won't fall asleep during the movie (it's 3 hrs plus). Which is really sweet. He's definitely fallen asleep through more than one chick flick before:) Not that I blame him. Sci-Fi movies don't agree with me just as much as chick flicks don't agree with him.
That's one awesome part of marriage, though. The give and take. It's definitely not easy to do, it's far easier to take than to give, at least for me, but it's so great when things are balanced and fluid.
Once I pick up some icing sugar, I'm going to make my sugar some shortbread...hopefully this recipe turns out great! Thanks to tablespoon.com for the recipe!

  1. Contagion is actually a pretty decent movie movie, it is a big goerey, but it's a really nice character study.

  2. Thanks Matt. I thought it looked pretty good in terms of character building too, but I just couldn't handle the gore...haha.
